The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 2.2¢ to 179.1¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 20 February, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 2¢ to 179.8¢, while the regional price rose 2.7¢ to 177.8¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 191.1¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (187¢), Queensland (185.7¢), NSW/ACT (181.1¢), Western Australia (176.6¢), Victoria (175.3¢), and South Australia (166.9¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 163.8¢ a litre, followed by Melbourne (174.9¢), Perth (175.6¢), Canberra (179.1¢), Sydney (184.3¢), Darwin (185.7¢), Hobart (188.8¢), and Brisbane (189.8¢).
