Weekly petrol prices

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 0.7¢ to 185.3¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 2 March, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 0.8¢ to 186.9¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 0.4¢ to 182.1¢ a litre.

The most expensive unleaded in the country was in Queensland at 197¢ a litre, followed by the Northern Territory (196.6¢), Tasmania (186.5¢), Victoria (185.7¢), South Australia (182.3¢), and Western Australia (180¢) and NSW/ACT (180¢).

Of the major cities, Sydney offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 177.1¢ a litre, followed by Perth (178.6¢), Darwin (181.4¢), Adelaide (183.2¢), Hobart (184.7¢), Melbourne (188.5¢), Canberra (194.4¢), and Brisbane (204.1¢).
