Weekly petrol prices

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 0.2¢ to 181.6¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 2 February, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 0.2¢ to 181.2¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 0.3¢ to 182.4¢ a litre.

The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 198.1¢ a litre, followed by NSW/ACT (191.1¢), Tasmania (189.2¢), Western Australia (179.9¢), Queensland (178.6¢), Victoria (174.4¢), and South Australia (171.4¢).

Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 168.1¢ a litre, followed by Melbourne (173.4¢), Brisbane (177.1¢), Perth (178.4¢), Darwin (183.8¢), Hobart (188.2¢), Canberra (196.2¢), and Sydney (196.4¢).
