The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia dropped 5.0¢ to 115.2¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 27 September, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price dropped 6.8¢ 113.9¢ a litre, with the regional price dropped by 1.2¢ to 117.9¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in Northern Territory at 129.9¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (123.2¢), Victoria (118.5¢), Western Australia (117.4¢), Queensland (114.3¢), NSW/ACT (113.4¢), and South Australia (108.1¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 104.7¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (108.3¢), Brisbane (113.0¢), Perth (116.7¢), Darwin (117.6¢), Melbourne (120.1¢), Canberra (121.4¢), and Hobart (123.5¢).
