The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 3.6¢ to 130.5¢ a litre nationally in the week ending March 10, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 4.9¢ to 128.6¢ a litre, with the regional price falling 0.9¢ to 134.4¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the NT at 142.5¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (141.8¢), WA (136¢), NSW/ACT (130.2¢), Queensland (129.5¢), Victoria (128.7¢) and SA (127.6¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 125.5¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (125.6¢), Brisbane (127.9¢), Darwin (128.3¢), Melbourne (128.3¢), Perth (134.1¢), Hobart (141.2¢) and Canberra (142.2¢).
