The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 4.4¢ to 156.1¢ a litre nationally in the week ending November 4, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 5.8¢ to 154.7¢ a litre, with the regional price falling 1.4¢ to 159¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the NT at 170.3¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (164.6¢), SA (160.7¢), Victoria (158.8¢), WA (156.9¢), Queensland (154.6¢) and NSW/ACT (152.6¢).
Of the major cities, Sydney offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 148.3¢ a litre, followed by Brisbane (152.1¢), Perth (154.9¢), Melbourne (158.7¢), Adelaide (161¢), Darwin (161.8¢), Hobart (164.4¢) and Canberra (165.2¢).
