The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 6.6¢ to 146.1¢ a litre nationally in the week ending October 13, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 9.2¢ to 145.2¢ a litre, with the regional price falling 1.4¢ to 147.8¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in Northern Territory at 157.4¢) a litre, followed by Tasmania (155.6¢), Queensland (149.6¢), South Australia (147.2¢), NSW/ACT (146.4¢), Western Australia (146.2¢) and Victoria (141.2¢).
Of the major cities, Melbourne offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 139.8¢ a litre, followed by Perth (144.7¢), Sydney (145.8¢), Adelaide (146.5¢) Darwin (147.6¢), Canberra (148.7¢), Brisbane (150.4¢) and Hobart (155.6¢).
