The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 1.2¢ to 155.8¢ a litre nationally in the week ending October 7, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 2.2¢ to 155.3¢ a litre, with the regional price rising 0.7¢ to 156.9¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the NT at 166.4¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (161.8¢), SA (158¢), Victoria (158¢), WA (156.4¢), NSW/ACT (155.3¢) and Queensland (151.8¢).
Of the major cities, Brisbane offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 149.3¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (154.1¢), Perth (155.1¢), Adelaide (158.3¢), Darwin (158.4¢), Melbourne (158.7¢), Hobart (162.1¢) and Canberra (162.8¢).
