The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 0.6¢ to 152.8¢ a litre nationally in the week ending September 23, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 0.5¢ to 152.5¢ a litre, with the regional price also rising 1.1¢ to 153.5¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the NT at 163.7¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (160.3¢), SA (157.1¢), Queensland (155.7¢), WA (152.7¢), NSW/ACT (152¢) and Victoria (149.4¢).
Of the major cities, Melbourne offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 149.1¢ a litre, followed by Perth (151.2¢), Sydney (151.5¢), Darwin (155.4¢), Brisbane (155.9¢), Canberra (157.3¢), Adelaide (157.9¢) and Hobart (160.2¢).
