The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia jumped 5.1¢ to 149.6¢ a litre nationally in the week ending July 22, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price leapt 6.8¢ to 149.2¢ a litre, with the regional price also up 1.5¢ to 150.4¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the NT at 182.6¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (158.1¢), WA (155¢), Queensland (152¢), NSW/ACT (149.5¢), SA (149.4¢) and Victoria (146.6¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 133.0¢ a litre, followed by Perth (146.8¢), Sydney (148.5¢), Brisbane (151.9¢), Melbourne (153¢), Canberra (155¢), Darwin (156.6¢) and Hobart (158.6¢).
