The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 8¢ to 204.1¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 17 July, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 9.7¢ to 203¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 4.6¢ to 206.3¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 219¢ a litre, followed by Victoria (218.2¢), Tasmania (212.4¢), NSW/ACT (201.3¢), Western Australia (200.9¢), Queensland (198.1¢), and South Australia (186.4¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 180.3¢ a litre, followed by Brisbane (194.2¢), Sydney (196.7¢), Perth (197.8¢), Darwin (209.7¢), Hobart (210.6¢), Canberra (218.9¢), and Melbourne (222.6¢).
