The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia dropped 0.1¢ to 119.3¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 12 July, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 0.1¢ 119.4¢ a litre, with the regional price dropping by 0.4¢ to 119.1¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in Northern Territory at 131.2¢ a litre, followed by Queensland (131.0¢), South Australia (128.7¢), Tasmania (124.4¢), Western Australia (120.2¢), NSW/ACT (115.0¢), and Victoria (111.2¢).
Of the major cities, Melbourne offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 110.2¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (111.1¢), Darwin (119.1¢), Perth (119.7¢), Canberra (121.6¢), Hobart (123.4¢), Adelaide (132.0¢), and Brisbane (136..8¢).
