The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 2¢ to 202.7¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 17 March, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 3.4¢ to 205.9¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 0.8¢ to 196.3¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in Queensland at 214.6¢ a litre, followed by the Northern Territory (206¢), NSW/ACT (204.6¢), Victoria (201.8¢), Tasmania (198.7¢), South Australia (188.9¢), and Western Australia (188.3¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 185.9¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (188.3¢), Darwin (191.9¢), Hobart (198.7¢), Melbourne (206.4¢), Sydney (207.3¢), Canberra (209.7¢), and Brisbane (224.8¢).
