Weekly petrol prices

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 5¢ to 177.5¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 17 November, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 6.5¢ to 178.3¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 1.9¢ to 176¢ a litre.

The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 186.4¢ a litre, followed by South Australia (182.7¢), Queensland (179.6¢), Victoria (178.2¢), NSW/ACT (176.4¢), Tasmania (176.1¢), and Western Australia (171.2¢).

Of the major cities, Darwin offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 168.4¢ a litre, followed by Perth (170.1¢), Sydney (175.3¢), Hobart (176.1¢), Canberra (176.9¢), Melbourne (180.3¢), Brisbane (181.8¢), and Adelaide (185.7¢).
