The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell to 134.5¢ a litre nationally in the week ending March 11, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s Weekly Petrol Prices report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 4.3¢ to 133.2¢ a litre, with the regional price down 1.6¢ to 137¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 155.5¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (146.6¢), South Australia (138.7¢), WA (137.1¢), Queensland (136.5¢), Victoria (132.8¢) and NSW/ACT (131.1¢).
Of the major cities, Sydney offered the cheapest fuel for the week at 125.8¢ a litre, followed by Melbourne (132.4¢), Perth (135.7¢), Brisbane (136.1¢), Adelaide (139.8¢), Hobart (145.6¢), Canberra (148¢) and Darwin (148.4¢).
