Weekly petrol prices

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 1.3¢ to 184.2¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 16 February, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 2.4¢ to 185¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 0.8¢ to 182.6¢ a litre.

The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 196.5¢ a litre, followed by Queensland (189.8¢), Tasmania (187.4¢), NSW/ACT (184.1¢), Victoria (182.8¢), South Australia (179.8¢), and Western Australia (179.4¢).

Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 177.8¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (179.6¢), Darwin (181.3¢), Sydney (182.7¢), Melbourne (185¢), Hobart (185.5¢), Brisbane (193.9¢), and Canberra (195.6¢).
