The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia dropped 2.4¢ to 119.8¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 10 January, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price dropped 3.4¢ to 119.5¢ a litre, with the regional price dropping by 0.4¢ to 120.3¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 129.3¢ a litre, followed by South Australia (128.0¢), Tasmania (124.3¢), Western Australia (120.7¢), Queensland (120.2¢), NSW/ACT (118.7¢), and Victoria (117.0¢).
Of the major cities, Sydney offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 115.5¢ a litre, followed by Darwin (116.2¢), Melbourne (117.6¢), Perth (120.3¢), Brisbane (120.8¢), Canberra (123.2¢), Hobart (124.2¢) and Adelaide (131.4¢).
