Weekly petrol prices

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 0.4¢ to 179.7¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 13 April, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 0.6¢ to 179.5¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 0.3¢ to 180¢ a litre.

The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 195.5¢ a litre, followed by Victoria (186.8¢), Tasmania (183.6¢), Queensland (179.7¢), South Australia (177.2¢), Western Australia (176.8¢), and NSW/ACT (175¢).

Of the major cities, Sydney offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 170.8¢ a litre, followed by Perth (175.3¢), Adelaide (176.4¢), Canberra (178.9¢), Brisbane (179.2¢), Darwin (180.7¢), Hobart (181.2¢), and Melbourne (190.7¢).
