The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 4.1¢ to 183.7¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 12 February, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 5.4¢ to 184.8¢ a litre, while the regional price rose by 1.2¢ 181.4¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 192.8¢ a litre, followed by NSW/ACT (191.1¢), Tasmania (184.8¢), Victoria (181¢), Queensland (179.3¢), and South Australia (178.9¢) and Western Australia (178.9¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 177.4¢ a litre, followed by Darwin (177.5¢), Adelaide (177.8¢), Brisbane (179.7¢), Canberra (181.2¢), Melbourne (182.2¢), Hobart (184.4¢), and Sydney (198.3¢).
