The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose to 141.2¢ a litre nationally in the week ending April 15, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s Weekly Petrol Prices report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price increased 1.3¢ to 140.3¢ a litre, with the regional price up 4.3¢ to 143¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 155.9¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (148.7¢), NSW/ACT (144.3¢), South Australia (142.8¢), Queensland (139.9¢), WA (139.7¢), and Victoria (137.2¢).
Of the major cities, Melbourne offered the cheapest fuel for the week at 135.8¢ a litre, followed by Perth and Brisbane (138.5¢), Adelaide (144¢), Sydney (144.5¢), Canberra (148.2¢), Hobart (148.3¢), and Darwin (148.6¢).
