Weekly petrol prices

The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 19.1¢ to 174.3¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 10 April, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 20.3¢ to 170¢, while the regional price fell 16.6¢ to 183.1¢ a litre.

The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 195.3¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (193¢), Western Australia (176.9¢), NSW/ACT (176.8¢), Queensland (174.3¢), Victoria (170.7¢), and South Australia (164.8¢).

Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 157.7¢ a litre, followed by Melbourne (168.1¢), Brisbane (170.1¢), Sydney (171¢), Perth (173.9¢), Canberra (181.8¢), Darwin (187.9¢), and Hobart (196.9¢).
