The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose to 141.5¢ a litre nationally in the week ending November 26, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s Weekly Petrol Prices report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 5.4¢ to 143.1¢ a litre, with the regional price up 2.2¢ to 138.1¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 152.7¢ a litre, followed by Victoria (144.9¢), Queensland (144.5¢), Tasmania (143¢), NSW/ACT (139¢), Western Australia (137.7¢) and South Australia (136.3¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest fuel for the week at 136.1¢ a litre, followed by Perth (137.2¢), Sydney (140.5¢), Hobart (142.6¢), Canberra (144.7¢), Darwin (145.8¢), and Brisbane and Melbourne (147.3¢).
