The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia rose 0.2¢ to 211.2¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 1 October, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price remained at 212.6¢ a litre, while the regional price rose by 0.5¢ to 208.2¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the Northern Territory at 216.7¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (215.5¢), Victoria (213.5¢), Queensland (212.7¢), NSW/ACT (210.6¢), South Australia (208.4¢), and Western Australia (205.1¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 203.5¢ a litre, followed by Darwin (206.2¢), Adelaide (209.2¢), Sydney (210¢), Canberra (212.5¢), Hobart (214.8¢), Brisbane (216.8¢), and Melbourne (217.5¢).
