The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 2.1¢ to 145.7¢ a litre nationally in the week ending June 2, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 2.6¢ to 144.9¢ a litre, with the regional price falling 1.1¢ to 147.3¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in South Australia at 156.6¢ a litre, followed by the Tasmania (155.3¢), NT (153.8¢), WA (146.9¢), Queensland (145.4¢), Victoria (144¢) and NSW/ACT (143.3¢).
Of the major cities, Sydney offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 139.6¢ a litre, followed by Darwin (142.4¢), Brisbane (144¢), Melbourne (144.4¢), Perth (145.9¢), Canberra (146.8¢), Hobart (154.9¢) and Adelaide (160.5¢).
