The average price of unleaded petrol in Australia fell 5.4¢ to 138.5¢ a litre nationally in the week ending June 30, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Petrol Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 8.2¢ to 137.2¢ a litre, with the regional price falling 0.3¢ to 141.1¢ a litre.
The most expensive unleaded in the country was in the NT at 154.3¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (151¢), Queensland (144.1¢), NSW/ACT (140.3¢), Western Australia (138.6¢), South Australia (133.1¢) and Victoria (131.7¢).
Of the major cities, Melbourne offered the cheapest unleaded for the week at 130.4¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (130.8¢), Perth (136.5¢), Canberra (143.3¢), Darwin (143.5¢), Brisbane (146.4¢) and Hobart (151.7¢).
