The average price of diesel fuel in Australia dropped 3.2¢ to 134.1¢ a litre nationally in the week ending April 5, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price dropped 3.2¢ to 132.7¢ a litre, while the regional price dropped 3.1¢ to 135.4¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 152.5¢, then Tasmania at 144.9¢ a litre, followed by Western Australia (135.0¢), Queensland (134.2), Victoria (133.8¢), NSW/ACT (132.5¢) and South Australia (130.0¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 123.6¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (127.3¢), Brisbane (133.0¢), Melbourne (133.7¢), Perth (134.1¢), Darwin (135.4¢), Canberra (136.2¢) and Hobart (146.5¢).
