The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 0.6¢ to 191.8¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 9 February, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 0.7¢ to 190.4¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 0.6¢ to 192.9¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 211.4¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (195.2¢), Victoria (192.1¢), NSW/ACT (192.1¢), Queensland (191.6¢), South Australia (190.6¢), and Western Australia (188.7¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 186¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (186.7¢), Sydney (190.1¢), Darwin (190.8¢), Melbourne (191.3¢), Brisbane (191.9¢), Hobart (195.5¢), and Canberra (198.1¢).
