The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia rose 0.3¢ 180.4¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 8 December, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 0.3¢ to 178.5¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 0.3¢ to 182¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 199.6¢ a litre, followed by Victoria (181.4¢), Tasmania (181.3¢), NSW/ACT (181¢), Queensland (180.5¢), South Australia (178.8¢), and Western Australia (176.2¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 172.5¢ a litre, followed by Darwin (173.4¢), Adelaide (175.5¢), Sydney (178.3¢), Brisbane (180.2¢), Melbourne (180.7¢), Hobart (182.1¢), and Canberra (190.3¢).
