The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 6.6¢ to 212.2¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 7 August, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 6.6¢ to 210.8¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 6.5¢ to 213.4¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 235.6¢ a litre, followed by Queensland (213.7¢), Victoria (212.7¢), NSW/ACT (212.5¢), Tasmania (211.5¢), South Australia (208.4¢), and Western Australia (207.9¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 203.9¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (206.2¢), Sydney (208¢), Melbourne (212¢), Brisbane (214.6¢), Hobart (215.6¢), Canberra (216.2¢), and Darwin (224¢).
