The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 2.2¢ to 193.2¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 7 May, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 2.1¢ 191¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 2.1¢ to 195.1¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 223.2¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (202.5¢), Queensland (194.3¢), NSW/ACT (193.8¢), Victoria (192.4¢), Western Australia (188.3¢), and South Australia (188.1¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 180¢ a litre, followed by Perth (184.2¢), Sydney (189.8¢), Melbourne (191.3¢), Brisbane (193.2¢), Canberra (200.4¢), Hobart (201.2¢), and Darwin (208.9¢).
