The average price of diesel fuel in Australia fell by 0.3¢ to 146.9¢ a litre nationally in the week ending September 1, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell by 0.3¢ to 145.4¢ a litre, while the regional price fell by 0.2¢ to 148.2¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in the NT at 185.1¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (157.2¢), Western Australia (151.2¢), NSW/ACT (148.0¢), South Australia (147.9¢), Queensland (146.4¢) and Victoria (144.5¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 142.5¢ a litre, followed by Melbourne (144.3¢), Sydney (144.5¢), Perth (145.4¢), Brisbane (145.7¢), Darwin (146.3¢), and Hobart (158.7¢).
