The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia rose 2.8¢ to 183.3¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 6 March, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 2.6¢ to 182.6¢ a litre, while the regional rose 3¢ to 183.9¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 195.7¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (192¢), Victoria (184¢), NSW/ACT (183.1¢), Queensland (182.7¢), Western Australia (181.6¢), and South Australia (181.2¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 179.9¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (180.8¢), Sydney (181.5¢), Melbourne (182.8¢), Brisbane (183.3¢), Canberra (186.7¢), Darwin (189.8¢), and Hobart (194.4¢).
