The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 0.8¢ 177.8¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 6 October, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 0.9¢ to 175.6¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 0.8¢ to 179.6¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 201.5¢ a litre, followed by Victoria (180.1¢), Queensland (179.3¢), Tasmania (178.2¢), NSW/ACT (177.1¢), South Australia (174¢), and Western Australia (171.9¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 167.3¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (168.3¢), Sydney (173¢), Darwin (175¢), Hobart (177.3¢), Melbourne (179¢), Brisbane (179.2¢), and Canberra (186.8¢).
