The average price of diesel fuel in Australia rose by 1.7¢ to 130.2¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 28 February, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 1.8¢ to 129.4¢ a litre, while the regional price rose by 1.6¢ to 130.8¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 143.6¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (135.1¢), Victoria (130.2¢), Western Australia (130.0¢), NSW/ACT (129.8¢), Queensland (129.4¢) and South Australia (129.3¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 127.3¢ a litre, followed by Perth (127.8¢), Sydney (128.3¢), Darwin (128.4¢), Melbourne (129.9¢), Brisbane (130.3¢), Canberra (133.3¢) and Hobart (134.9¢).
