The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia rose 0.5¢ 180.1¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 1 December, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 0.5¢ to 178.2¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 0.5¢ to 181.7¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 198.7¢ a litre, followed by Victoria (181.6¢), Tasmania (180.6¢), NSW/ACT (180.5¢), Queensland (180.3¢), South Australia (178.4¢), and Western Australia (175.9¢).
Of the major cities, Darwin offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 171.9¢ a litre, followed by Perth (172.1¢), Adelaide (175.9¢), Sydney (177.6¢), Brisbane (180¢), Melbourne (180.9¢), Hobart (180.9¢), and Canberra (188.8¢).
