The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia declined 1.0¢ to 208.9¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 29 May, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price declined 1.0¢ to 207.3¢ a litre, while the regional price declined 1.1¢ to 210.2¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 219.0¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (217.1¢), Queensland (209.6¢), Victoria (208.7¢), NSW/ACT (208.5¢), South Australia (208.5¢), and Western Australia (206.2¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 203.1¢ a litre, followed by Perth (203.4¢), Sydney (205.6¢), Melbourne (207.9¢), Brisbane (209.4¢), Darwin (209.7¢), Canberra (210.1¢), and Hobart (218.7¢).
