The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 7.3¢ to 218.8¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 31 July, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 7.2¢ to 217.4¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 7.3¢ to 219.9¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 239.9¢ a litre, followed by Queensland (221.9¢), Victoria (218.7¢), NSW/ACT (218.1¢), Tasmania (215.5¢), Western Australia (215¢), and South Australia (213¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 210.6¢ a litre, followed by Perth (212.1¢), Sydney (212.7¢), Melbourne (217.6¢), Hobart (218.8¢), Canberra (220.3¢), Brisbane (222.6¢), and Darwin (230¢).
