The average price of diesel fuel in Australia fell by 0.2¢ to 147.2¢ a litre nationally in the week ending August 25, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell by 0.4¢ to 145.7¢ a litre, while the regional price fell by 0.1¢ to 148.4¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in the NT at 161.7¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (158.0¢), South Australia (148.2¢), Western Australia (148.0¢), NSW/ACT (147.2¢), Queensland (146.3¢) and Victoria (144.7¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 143.0¢ a litre, followed by Melbourne (144.6¢), Sydney (144.7¢), Perth (145.6¢), Brisbane (145.9¢), Darwin (146.5¢), and Hobart (159.6¢).
