The average price of diesel fuel in Australia dropped by 0.2¢ to 134.6¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 25 April, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price dropped 0.3¢ to 133.2¢ a litre, while the regional price dropped by 0.1¢ to 135.7¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 147.7¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (139.9¢), South Australia (135.2¢), NSW/ACT (134.6¢), Victoria (134.1¢), Western Australia (134.1¢), and Queensland (133.7¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 131.3¢ a litre, followed by Perth (131.8¢), Darwin (132.1¢), Sydney (132.2¢), Melbourne (133.4¢), Brisbane (133.8¢), Canberra (138.9¢) and Hobart (141.0¢).
