Weekly diesel prices

The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 0.6¢ to 220.9¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 29 October, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 0.8¢ to 219.5¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 0.6¢ to 222¢ a litre.

The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 236.2¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (227.3¢), Victoria (221.8¢), Queensland (221.2¢), NSW/ACT (220.5¢), South Australia (218.6¢), and Western Australia (217.6¢).

Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 214.5¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (215.5¢), Sydney (218¢), Brisbane (221.1¢), Darwin (221.3¢), Melbourne (221.3¢), Canberra (226.4¢), and Hobart (226.2¢).
