The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 1.1¢ 193.1¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 28 July, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 1.3¢ to 191.5¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 1.1¢ to 194.3¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 211.6¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (195.4¢), Queensland (194.4¢), NSW/ACT (193.6¢), Victoria (193.2¢), South Australia (190.5¢), and Western Australia (188.2¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 184.7¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (186.8¢), Darwin (187.4¢), Sydney (190.6¢), Melbourne (193.2¢), Brisbane (194.5¢), Hobart (194.9¢), and Canberra (203.7¢).
