Weekly diesel prices

The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 1.8¢ to 184.7¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 28 May, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 1.9¢ 182.3¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 1.6¢ to 186.8¢ a litre.

The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 218¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (186.8¢), Queensland (186.3¢), NSW/ACT (184.8¢), Victoria (184.4¢), South Australia (182.5¢), and Western Australia (179.3¢).

Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 174.3¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (176.2¢), Sydney (180.5¢), Melbourne (182.9¢), Brisbane (185.8¢), Hobart (186.4¢), Canberra (191.7¢), and Darwin (204¢).
