The average price of diesel fuel in Australia fell by 0.9¢ to 148.5¢ a litre nationally in the week ending June 23, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell by 0.9¢ to 147.4¢ a litre, while the regional price fell by 0.9¢ to 149.4¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in the NT at 163.1¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (158.8¢), WA (150¢), SA (148.7¢), NSW/ACT (148.1¢), Queensland (147.6¢) and Victoria (146.3¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 144.4¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (145.2¢), Melbourne (146.4¢), Darwin (147.8¢), Brisbane (148.1¢), Perth (148.4¢), Canberra (152.3¢) and Hobart (159.6¢).
