The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 0.3¢ 179¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 27 October, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 0.3¢ to 177.2¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 0.2¢ to 180.6¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 200.9¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (180.8¢), Victoria (180.2¢), Queensland (180¢), NSW/ACT (178.5¢), South Australia (176.2¢), and Western Australia (174.8¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 171¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (173.5¢), Darwin (174.5¢), Sydney (175.5¢), Melbourne (179.3¢), Brisbane (179.8¢), Hobart (181.2¢), and Canberra (187¢).
