The average price of diesel fuel in Australia rose by 0.4¢ to 149.9¢ a litre nationally in the week ending April 21, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose by 0.5¢ to 149.2¢ a litre, while the regional price rose by 0.4¢ to 150.4¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in the NT at 163.1¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (160.1¢), WA (150.7¢), NSW/ACT (149.6¢), SA (149.5¢), Queensland (149.4¢) and Victoria (148¢).
Of the major cities, Sydney and Darwin offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 147.7¢ a litre, followed by Melbourne (148.5¢), Perth (148.9¢), Adelaide (149.4¢), Brisbane (150.2¢), Canberra (153.4¢) and Hobart (159.7¢).
