The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia fell 0.1¢ to 197.7¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 26 March, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price fell 0.9¢ to 195.1¢ a litre, while the regional price fell 1.1¢ to 199.8¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 225.0¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (207.4¢), NSW (198.9¢), Queensland (198.5¢), Victoria (197.4¢), South Australia (195.0¢), and Western Australia (190.7¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 186.6¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (188.9¢), Sydney (195.5¢), Melbourne (195.6¢), Brisbane (197.1¢), Canberra (206.0¢), Hobart (207.1¢), and Darwin (209.9¢).
