The average price of diesel fuel in Australia dropped 0.3¢ to 119.5¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 20 September, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price dropped 0.3¢ to 118.0¢ a litre, while the regional price dropped 0.3¢ to 121.7¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 135.1¢, then Tasmania at 132.4¢ a litre, followed by Western Australia (119.5¢), Victoria (119.3¢), NSW/ACT (119.0¢), South Australia (118.9¢) and Queensland (117.7¢).
Of the major cities, Adelaide offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 111.9¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (116.0¢), Darwin (116.9¢), Perth (117.3¢), Brisbane (117.9¢), Melbourne (118.6¢), Canberra (122.1¢) and Hobart (135.0¢).
