The average price of diesel fuel in Australia rose 0.9¢ to 138.4¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 20 June, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose by 1.0¢ to 137.2¢ a litre, with the regional price rising by 0.8¢ to 139.4¢ a litre.
The most expensive fuel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 155.2¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (144.9¢), NSW/ACT (138.5¢), South Australia (138.4¢), Queensland (138.0¢), Victoria (137.5¢), and Western Australia (137.1¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 134.2¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (135.3¢), Sydney (136.8¢), Melbourne (137.0¢), Brisbane (138.5¢), Canberra (141.8¢), Darwin (141.8¢) and Hobart (145.4¢).
