The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia rose 1.3¢ to 203.1¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 25 February, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.
The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 1.5¢ to 201.4¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 1.2¢ to 204.5¢ a litre.
The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 219.9¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (207.8¢), Queensland (203.6¢), NSW/ACT (203.4¢), Victoria (202.4¢), South Australia (201.1¢), and Western Australia (200.4¢).
Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 196.3¢ a litre, followed by Adelaide (197.7¢), Darwin (199.3¢), Sydney (200.5¢), Melbourne (202.4¢), Brisbane (203.7¢), Hobart (207.3¢), and Canberra (208.9¢).
