Weekly diesel prices

The average weekly diesel fuel price in Australia rose 8.4¢ to 219.8¢ a litre nationally in the week ending 19 June, according to the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s ‘Weekly Diesel Prices’ report.

The average national weekly metropolitan retail price rose 8.5¢ to 218¢ a litre, while the regional price rose 8.3¢ to 221.2¢ a litre.

The most expensive diesel in the country was in the Northern Territory at 229.2¢ a litre, followed by Tasmania (227.9¢), Queensland (220¢), South Australia (220¢), Victoria (219.3¢), NSW/ACT (219.2¢), and Western Australia (217.6¢).

Of the major cities, Perth offered the cheapest diesel for the week at 215¢ a litre, followed by Sydney (217.3¢), Melbourne (218¢), Brisbane (219.6¢), Darwin (220.4¢), Canberra (221.4¢), Adelaide (221.7¢), and Hobart (227¢).
